Munich, a city of just under one and a half million people, is a popular destination choice for tourists visiting southern Germany. The Oktoberfest and its beer-drinking related activities aren’t the only things on offer here, as this is a city of great architecture and culture, with a history the locals are incredibly proud of.

Due to the area’s proximity to the Alps and the Bavarian countryside, touring by campervan is popular. Numerous campsites dot the suburbs and surrounding small towns. These sites are near enough to the metropolitan area to allow drivers to cruise into the city at any time with ease.

Hiring a campervan in Berlin in 2026 what does it actually cost?

Having rented campervans across Europe for years, I’ve seen firsthand how prices in Berlin shift depending on the season, demand, and even pickup location. One thing’s certain: timing matters. That’s why I always recommend using a price comparison tool — it’s the easiest way to spot trends and avoid overpaying.

August is always the most expensive month to rent, as it falls right in the middle of peak travel season. But if you’re flexible with your dates, you can take advantage of significantly lower rates at the beginning or end of the year — a great way to stretch your budget without missing out on the experience.
